... but not for too much longer. It sounded like they are finishing up the final training and in-processing, so I would expect her to leave for her official base in the next few days.
It is still unbearably hot in Kuwait, but yesterday they also had some light sand storms creating a cloudy appearance hiding the sun. I'm not sure which is worse, a beating sun or sand whipping around. As it turns out, the current heat wave hit right before they arrived. Prior to the heat wave it was under 100 (why does that not sound comfortable either?).
By the way, Laura DOES have access to her personal email account (laura_yancer@yahoo.com). This is a great way to send her a note of encouragement.

Hi Laura! We are thinking of you and I hope you are keeping your spirits up. We had an exciting night last night! You won't believe it! When I got home from work around 8:30 pm ...now hold on to your camoflague pants...Fred had gone to the grocery store, set the table and wait there is more! he made dinner. I had a heart attack! Can you believe it? He did something wrong I'm sure but I haven't figured out what quite yet!
I hope that you make some good friends during this experience...5 years from now when you look back on it with memories of good friends it will all be worthwhile. Take care.
Mother-in Law Karen...I knew this name thing would be an issue!
