Half Way!!!

We passed the half way point of Laura's tour. 3 months down, 3 more to go!

So what's new in Iraq?
Of course most of the events are things she is not able to talk about or I am not able to post, but she (along with the many troops serving) continues to make an impact to the people of Iraq. It has been noted in the news that violence is markedly down (it must drive the media people crazy to write this) and the Iraqi's are becoming more and more independent.

The weather continues to be, well, HOT. According to Weather.com, it will be around 110 degrees each of the next 10 days. Unfortunately, Laura reports that the temperature at her base tends to be 5-10 degrees higher, so the August heat will continue.

That's about all to report for now. During this middle stage of the deployment, I'm sure she can use a few reminders of home, so don't hesitate to send her emails with pictures. (laura_yancer@yahoo.com)
